I AM…..
I am the sun and the moon.
I wonder if they can live without each other.
I hear the sun awakening the world.
I see the moon lull it to sleep.
I want the red horizon to match the glistening silver night beacon.
I am the sun and the moon.

I pretend I don’t see them change.
I feel the warmth and the cold,
I touch
I cry in the beauty of the setting sun and the calming of the night.
I worry night won’t come.
I am the sun and the moon.

I understand their history.
I say there must be something between them.
I dream of seeing them eclipse together.
I try to watch the radiance of the sun and glistening silver of the moon.
I hope it will always take my breath away.
I am the sun and the moon.

Thanks for reading.

What is an education? … I believe it is the passing on of knowledge from one person to another as quoted by google wikipedia- ‘Education encompasses teaching and learning specific skills, and also something less tangible but more profound: the imparting of knowledge, good judgement and wisdom. Education has as one of its fundamental goals the imparting of culture from generation to generation.’ and I believe this to be true but what make an education a good one?

To me a good education also good learning consists of many parts, firstly a good teacher. To be a good teacher I think that they would have to have: the right amount of knowledge about what they’re trying to teach, because yesterday on Today Tonight I found out that the standard of teacher knowledge has dropped significantly, which is appalling and now after less than a generation ago Australia was regarded as one of the smartest countries in the world, and now it is 11th in science and 14th in mathematics. This makes me incredible angry, that we could have slipped so far when we have all these resources at our fingertips. Oh god I’m rambling, sorry.

Okay to have a good learning environment to me basically means to be sheltered and warm while learning, to feel safe (not like the learning conditions in places like africa). To have a kind teacher. Not some hoity-toity old person who screams at a whisper and a messy book. Who bores you senseless and if you fall asleep whacks you with a ruler.

My expectations my class and teacher this year is to pass with ‘flying colours’ and to learn something new, really that is all I expect. I just want to go into year 10 knowing something new and that I will use, and so far I have learnt a few new things.

Tonight I am going out for dinner with my three best friends because two of them are having their birthday next week. I am soo! excited beacause it has been so long since I last saw them all together. We have known each other for a long time now about…6 years and tonight we are going on our traditional dinner at La Porchetta’s, where we will stay chat and laugh ourselves silly, and get frowns from the old people around us. Then we will split the bill using the calculator on our phones, (they’re a little padantic) and go home, but tonight my friend Fiona is coming home to my place where we we laugh while watching ‘THE LIFE OF BRIAN’ and ‘THE QUEST FOR THE HOLY GRAIL’ really funny comedies that we always watch together. So that is why I am so excited. And I have that ‘I’M SO EXCITED’ song in my head and I have had it in there all day, cause ‘I’m so excited, do do dodo, and I just can’t fight it’ ect ect.

Our homegroup isn’t sure what were doing for our stall but they are asking for ‘$5′ from each person. 25 people, $5 each and they have $125. I was wondering if they need this much even for a stall if its only for one day. It has been said that they will use some of the money for a homegroup lunch but is it goin to take $125, for the stall and the lunch. Whats your opinion?

Its get up, have breakfast, make lunch in 15 minutes. Brush teeth, do hair in 10 minutes. Get dressed, pack bag in 10 minutes. Leave for school. Everyday its the same, get home do homework, help mum, do dishes, watch T.V and go to bed. I’m so sick of the boring routine that I have to follow everyday and I can’t change it or I’ll be late, or have to get up earlier. And theres no fun, just boring trudging along. Boring, boring, boring, I’m so sick of it.

This is a story a friend of mine wrote, I thought I would share it with you because I thought it was good so tell us what you think.

All in all it was shaping up to be the most boring summer, having to spend it at Auntie Sue’s. Nothing to do except: hang out by the beach alone? Check. Miss all my friends back in Melbourne? Check. Discover lots of hot skater boys, jumping gutters and generally just looking cool…um check!
Kimmy pushed her long, brown hair behind her ear and did a quick mental check.
Shorts: Sass and Bide. Shoes: Cons dirty but ok.
Hair: semi fabulous. Maybe this weekend wouldn’t be so boring after all…

When her well-intentioned dad lent her his camera for some stupid school assignment, she was sure he had this in mind, I mean seriously he wouldn’t just want her to take some random pictures of stupid animal would he? Looking carefully through the lens, she started snapping away, trying to catch some of the boys more jackass-inspired airborne activity until…
“Hey did you ask for our permission to take those photos?”
Standing over her was a tall mess of dark curly hair, big brown eyes and a hard stare, and looking pretty sexy with his dickies shirt and old skool shorts.
Suddenly the usually quick, loud and happy Kimmy couldn’t even get her words right.
“Um no… I was just…”
“Look if you’re from the council and this is about that whole public space thing, I thought we made it clear that…”
“I’m not from the council. I’m from Melbourne. I’m just… taking pictures.”
“Why?”
“Because… you guys look cool and…”
Kimmy shoved the camera back in her bag, embarrassed. ‘Look cool what am I, 13 years old?’ she thought to herself.
“Oh” brown eyes still staring, grinning. “Well I guess we are pretty cool. My name is Aaron” “Kimmy” she took his outstretched hand and shook it firmly. He winked at her playfully. Oh-Kay, definitely a major hottie.
“Nice camera.”
“Thanks I don’t usually do the whole stalker thing.”
“Oh really,” he replied, looking at her up and down. “What do you usually take photos of?” “People doing stuff,” she shrugged. “Friends, bands” “really? I play in a band. Were not very good, like, we haven’t really played that much and I can’t really sing. I suck to tell you the truth, but you know, im learning, or trying to…wow that sounded pretty stupid didn’t it.”
“Yeah kind of”Kimmy replied, smiling, he smiled back. “Were playing a gig tonight if you wanna come.” “Yeah I’d love to! I mean, yeah, maybe. That might be cool…”
“Cool.”
Aaron plonked himself down next to her and took her hand, writing an address down on her palm. His hair hung down in his eyes, and up close she could see the little goatee that he had obviously tried to grow, but just couldn’t get it right…
“Maybe see you there then. Bye Kimmy.”
Aaron grabbed his deck and skated off to his mates. Suddenly this little beach town had gotten a whole lot more interesting.

After 3 hours of getting ready, she was ready to rock. When she arrived, there were so many hot blondes with big boos, and mini shorts sipping diet cokes as if they were going to be on a TV commercial. As she turned to look for Aaron a snobby girl pushed past Kimmy rudely managing to spill half her coke down Kimmy no longer white top. “Oops sorry, I didn’t see you there.”
‘Great,’ thought Kimmy, trying to wipe up that disgusting mess. ‘Well its lucky I haven’t seen…’ and there he was. Now if she thought he was hot before, seeing him up onstage, holding his black guitar awww you couldn’t explain it in words. The crowd cheered loudly as Aaron was waving someone to come up on stage with him. “Yes I’m talking to you Kimmy baby.” Kimmy ran up there in joy. The crowd went wild as Kimmy was moshing up on stage while Aaron was singing and playing his heart out. Then Aaron just grabbed her and gave her the pash of a life time…

This is a topic that has resurfaced again in the past year and I want to tell you my opinion so you can tell me yours. To sum it up the Da Vinci code is about whether Jesus married and had children with Mary Magdelan (think thats how u spell it) anyway, to me I believe that there has to be some truth in this story other wise it wouldn’t have made so many people angry, because if it wasn’t true it would be brushed aside as ‘nonsense’ but it hasn’t leading me to believe that there is truth behind this story. As a bought up catholic I have been taught to believe that Jesus is the son of god and was a firm follower of the Christian way, that I don’t doubt. What i do doubt is that in all his years he could’t have fallen in love, married and had a child (baby girl) as the book suggests. To me I would only find myself respecting ‘Jesus’ because he could love and have a family, and he would seem more human to me, but thats just my opinion.
